A pretty little desk that finds its way home

Do you know what is more wonderful than having great friends?  It is having great friends who have great tastes and love you enough to hand off their cast away furniture.  My friend A asked me if I want to take a little dresser she no longer wanted. This woman has amazing taste in pretty much everything.  She and her mother have been collecting vintage items and furniture for years and years.  I am a complete amateur compare to them, so of course I said yes please.  She pulled out this most gorgeous dresser from inside her hall closet.

I almost died!

It has the perfect faded colors...to those little delicate details...the knobs are just to die for.  I couldn't put that dresser into my car fast enough.

One of the knobs is missing.  I don't mind at all since it is perfect to me.  Maybe eventually I will replace the knobs.

It is the perfect place to put all of my antique books.  It even pulls out into a little desk.  How wonderful.  We can put our tea cups and such on it during our "fancy tea time."

It was just meant to be.  Speaking of meant to be, the girls and I just adopted another puppy from a rescue group.  Her name is Lily.  She is so lovable and playful.

We now have three puppies.  Chanel, my Shih Tzu, is also a rescue.  She is my shadow who is always by my foot.  She is the smallest of the pack but also the bossiest.

My silky terrier, Delilah, is the crazy one.   I couldn't get a decent picture of her since she is always on the move.  The amount of estrogen in this household is to the max.  Here are the loves of my life.  My Bella and Aurora.

Our house is a constant rhythm of tap taps and stomp stomps.  It is a beautiful chaos but nothing in life is more beautiful than to be loved and to love back unconditionally.

Love,
Victoria

  7. GORGEOUS! Love the colors, the raised flower painted details, the legs... I would replace the top two pulls with crystal, put the small pulls on the 2nd drawer, and keep the one small pull for another purpose! they are too perfect for the piece to replace! Just saying,,, if it were me. Marie

  8. That's a perfect suggestion, Marie. I was thinking the same thing. I think the knobs go perfectly with the piece.

  10. Good idea from reader above but silly me, I was eye ogling the entire colors and the unique back piece behind the knobs that I didn't notice the missing knob!! Then I looked at it again and I'm with you. For me, it looks beautiful as is. And the crystal idea is always a good idea...but not necessary!

  13. GIRL !!!!!!!!!! how lucky can you be ????? what a great gift , i love the chest, you can just get an odd drawer pull and arrange it at the bottom I really like the original pulls. Just by a round knob similar and paint it to match the other ones.
love you little doggies also I want another dog

  14. Your girls are adorable with those big brown eyes. Beautiful shots! The pups are also adorable. Rescue dogs are the best. Our Sadie is a Lhasa rescue. Love the dresser, Victoria. It's fun to pass along a piece to a friend you know will love and appreciate it.
