Like decorating the Christmas tree.
The girls were so excited to have their own little tree this year. Their room becomes such a magical space with the twinkling of lights at night.
Since their room is pretty small, I've decided to decorate it with simple greenery.
Instead of getting way too many toys they will play with for one day, I am taking them to see The Nutcracker. I think they are going to love it. I am sure Santa will bring some presents for under the tree too. : ) Stay warm, my friends. It sure is cold out.
Love,
Victoria

I love the simple greenery Victoria and the Nutcracker will be so much fun! I take my daughter every year too! Opening night at the SF Ballet is super fun!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Darrielle. I can't wait for the show. I think the girls are more excited to get all dress up.
DeleteVictoria I just love everything about how you decorate. It is enchantingly beautiful yet so down to earth comfortable. I like that you are just YOU and do not try to impress or stage your photos like a magazine shoot. Your beauty just flows like a river into every nook and cranny. Your girls vintage beds with a lacing of pine and the sprigs dangling from the gold frames are truly magical to me. Love everything dear Victoria...it's A Wonderful Life here.
ReplyDeleteOh Kerrie, all your comments mean a lot to me. You are so very kind. I hope you have a great Thanksgiving with your family!
DeleteOh my word, this is just the sweetest thing! You are such a good mommy! My daughter has danced in The Nutcracker since she was 12 (she is 25 now and is still dancing in it!) that will be a magical experience for them :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Julie. Bella would love to be in the Nutcracker. She was at a ballet studio that was very formal and was training the girls to be ballerinas but I took her out and now she is at a more casual dance studio that is more about fun. We will see how she likes it.
DeleteOh what a magical room for two sweet girls!! I also have two girls who share a small room, older than yours, 12 and 14, and they also have another household so I can totally relate. It is always difficult for me to keep things simple at our house knowing the competition at the other, but in the long run I know it will pay off. Beautiful memories you are all making:-)
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful, Victoria. I like to keep it simple too. xoxo I use to help decorate my daughter's room for Christmas, but now she does her own. It's nice that she wants to continue the tradition. They will love the Nutcracker. They are just the right age. My daughter was in the cast here for the three previous years.
ReplyDeleteVictoria, taking your girls to see the Nutcracker is a marvelous idea. Research shows that gifts of an experience are the ones that children will recall. They likely won't remember where or when they received a toy, but the memory of seeing the Nutcracker will probably be with them always.
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays!
Truly a dreamy and magical room for your darling girls! Taking your girls to The Nutcracker is the best gift you could give them for Christmas...Lovely idea!!

Love that you are letting the girls see the beauty of the season too besides the fun part of getting gifts. Their room looks so cute love the touches of the greenery. They will love the nutcracker. When my girls were little we would go each year to see the nutcracker. Ohhh what a fun tradition that was. Enjoy.

Hi Victoria, love how every shot feels like looking at a favorite magazine with cozy room of relaxed comfort, those kind of rooms that one would want to grow up in or wish they could have. The cages hanging are sweetly placed and the whole tree thing in there room! Well what can I say other then sugar plum fairies must be dancing about when night falls and time for bed where the sparkle of lights dance about in there dreams.
ReplyDeleteI never over have in the gifting area, I often made gifts, like one year my daughter wanted a doll house so I built one, not those fragile kits, but built from hard woods and good ply woods... I painted the house to look like a dreamy cottage In Her favorite colours, blue and white. I also placed smaller pieces that would go with her play house to get busy decorating and living a magical story life.
We spent time doing things that had true meaning and we were off helping the shelters, and bagging up totes for the homeless, we are also doing it this year, it's so much more Joyeux when giving.
You my dear are such a beautiful spirited Mother, you create a magical life for your girls, and like I have told you before that all you create your girls will hold these memories of there mother creating for them and your home dear to their hearts for eternity.
See you soon, so looking forward to spending the holidays here with you.
What are your thanks giving plans?....
Stay warm and cozy.
Happy ThanksGiving to you and your girls.

My mother took us to ballet, opera, theater, and orchestra performances throughout our childhood. It is such a magical experience to see live performances! I just know your daughters will LOVE the Nutcracker!
ReplyDeleteTheir room is so sweet. It's wonderful how you are showing them the true spirit of the season, Victoria.
Enjoy!

Victoria,
ReplyDeleteI love how you grace your daughter's life by letting them experience and engage in their decorations. This year I am placing simple unadorned trees throughout my house. Trees around 2 feet tall, elegant yet simple in being unadorned. I love the greens you wrapped on your beauties beds, the birdcage between with lights under the gorgeous Angel wings offering protection and love as they dream. Dream they will after taking them to see the Nutcracker. In my home it grew into a tradition. How cute your fur child is all decked out in a sweater. Love the jingle bell wreath in gold ;-) I'm into a jingle appreciation!
Stay warm, be happy and keep creating magic.
xo,
Vera
Victoria you are a wonderful mother creating life long memories for them. They may not appreciate them fully until they are grown, but they will. Their room is beautiful. It is the magic you remember not the presents. Smile!
ReplyDeleteSimple elegance. Enjoyed looking at your pretty images. You've captured the true spirit of Christmas. I will be going to see The Nutcracker too. My first time.
