Weekend Musings.

Greeting from this bed of mine.  Every weekend I tell myself how much work I am going to get done and then BAM!  I am in bed...sick...whiny...hungry always hungry.  Most of you know when the only grown up in the house is out of commission, mutiny begins.

As the girls and the dogs are planning their uprising, I am sitting in bed with every fashion magazine possible and cups of tea.

I am also thinking about what direction this blog is going?  I realized I will never be one of the big blogs with sponsors because I simply don't fit into the mainstream.  I don't want to post for the sake of posting because then it is just boring for everyone.

As much as I love home decor and furniture make overs, I want to branch out toward other passions.  I love fashion and skincare.  I love food.  I would love to blog about those too.  If you follow me on Instagram, you will probably notice that I started posting a lot more fashion posts.

My friends will say I dress like somebody's very chic grandpa...with love of ballgowns and turbans.  I believe in dressing up everyday and yes I am that annoying mom who shows up to playgrounds in a ballgown skirt.  No matter what the outfit is I have a quick 10 minutes rule.  I hope you will enjoy this new direction the blog will be taking.  I would love to hear your thoughts.  Wishing you a fun filled weekend!

Love,
Victoria

  1. I think you should blog about whatever you feel inspired to blog about, don't worry about being a "big" blog or getting sponsors. I've gone through phases where I'm blogging constantly and then I stop for weeks on end but no stress.

I love seeing what you and your girlies are wearing! Or what you're eating:)

  6. Victoria, i go,way back when you first opened your blog and I went crazy sending your blog off to blogging friends and friends and family who don't blog. You are so adored for your free spirited self, and your brave girl moves in all you create and Imagin here.
I been blogging 6 years and look for no Sponsers of magazine features they come on there own and the joy of it is not worrying who notices you rather then who you are inspiring to be you! And you my dear truly inspire more then you know.
Don't worry if your not the same style as others, myself not being your style can see all your pieces in the mix of how I create making a perfect blend.

I am in awwww! With every visit to your blog postings and take with me some of your relaxed french style. I can tell you you make me or us feel like your girl friend who wants to come over for a slumber party and stay up all night arranging the house!
Perhaps you have never done this, but when I moved out of my home at 18 girl friends of mine would all get together and we would apartment hop and help each other arrange and create for our homes.
So anytime in the future you want have a slumber party I am game, if not physically there, know that I am one of your friends you could have called on.

Keep inspiring all your big and small projects we love it all.

    Xx

  8. Victoria,
Your blog should be about what you love and want to post on. So you got this girl. Just do what you love and you will be so happy.

  9. I came because of the refrigerator makeover and stayed because of everything else. Your heart has to be in it or it will fade away. Even if you lose some, others will find you. I'm a jeans and work in the garden clothes older woman, but I like your fashion posts - probably because of the artistic, beautiful look of them.

  12. I am back Victoria, after a quick visit on Instagram last night and seeing you in your so called Grandpa outfit, I am not sure I would agree with your friends, I rather like that man tailored look like the 90's when it was a cool loo, to dress in a mans tie, it was a very CHOUSE look as the fashion world refered to its look and fashion style!
I don't think you lack visitors for any other reason then it's blogger, with so many new places to rest your creativity on so many bloggers have noticed a decline in visits and comments to their postings. We have Facebook and Instagram dragging our followers away, and there is just not enough time in the day to visit comment all these different media's.

I've even noticed sponcorships have shifted in their directions.
I think anything you do will be of interest, and your right about doing a post for the sake of a message or inspiration rather then just to post.

I had to smile, with your comment your the Mom in the ball gown or dressed I'm some sort of fashion attention getting outfit or grown, I too get this all the time, I sometimes get thrift shop owners asking me why am I always so dressed up to shop junk! Well it's pride in who you are, and I don't leave home without being dressed for any occasion. My daughter was always dressed to the nines with the latest trends, or not so trendy making her own fashion statement.

I think it would be fun to see this part of you, home, food, fashion!

Victoria, I've told you this before, that you and your artistic style reminds me of a younger Tracy Porter, ex-model, designer, shop owner, food expert in her own entertaining way. She covered it all, and she was a force to reckon with back in the 80' 90's and even now! Reinventing herself always to fit the times.

Will look forward to what ever direction you take us in, I've wanted to do some food postings, but felt it may not be of interest....love your brave choices and all you inspire.

    See you soon,

Perhaps, you could interview the school drop off moms asking them their true thoughts on how they preside you dropping or picking up your girls in a ball gown? Then you could take foto's and post what they had to say!
If I saw you at my daughters school dressed in ballroom fashion we would have connected, you would have seen me in similar yet, relaxed a bit with a worn out jean jacket and long pearls and cowboy boots, white Tee and a fancy long lace shirt. Yes the moms always snickered who knows good or bad I never asked and really never cared, it was my style and I was feeling it.

Keep feeling it girl ! We feel it as well over here.

    Xoxo
