Turban on. Turban off

I have to tell you.  I have been wanting to write this post for a very long time.  It is about turbans and my love for them.  Everytime I start writing it, I get overwhelmed with excitement and I can't seem to just pick a few inspiration pictures from my archive of hundreds and hundreds of turban pictures.  I don't know where or when my obsession with turbans started.  I assume it started with my grandmother as she truly is the most chicest woman I know.  I have collections of scarves I picked up from flea markets over the years and they come in handy for those days when you don't feel like doing your hair.  I guess I have a lot of those days because I find myself sporting a turban most days.

Can you believe the top two portraits of yours truly is taken by Bella?  She styled me then told me how to pose.  She was so excited that I let her use my big girl camera.

Here is Bella rocking her turban.  Just in case you are not convinced yet to try a turban I found inspirations of women of all ages rocking turbans.  I found all of these pictures from pinterest.

If you are thinking that these women can wear a turban because they are young, I have to tell you some of the chicest women I have seen wearing turbans are beautiful older women.

How beautiful are they?  If a full turban seems intimidating then try a half turban.

Here are a few ways you can wrap a turban courtesy of pinterest.

So pour yourself a glass wine and go through that stash of scarves you have hoarding ( I know you have it.)  Have fun and rock that turban!

Love,
Victoria

  1. I love your turban style! Bella has the eye...she is an artist. What beautiful photography.

I have never tried a turban but I have a stash of scarves. My daughter used to wear them then she shaved her hair off. She is so beautiful even with barely any hair. My sons both have very long hair right now and wear bandanas like turbans. They also do the man buns! I told you once that I have wild kids!

I will try the half turban since my hair is so long. Thank you for the inspiration.

    Happy New Year xx

    1. Kerrie, I would rather have wild kids than kids who feel like they have to conform themselves into what they think other people want them to be. Honestly that is like one of my big fear as a parent. Even now Bella will comes home sometimes and say I don't want to wear that anymore because so and so makes fun of it. It makes me sad. I keep forgetting how long your hair is now. I bet you will look wonderful with a half turban. Happy New Year, my friend.

    1. Vera, I wear a lot of thin headbands too. I just sew them to make them look like turban headbands. They come in so handy.

    1. Thank you, Phyllis. Turban headbands are so easy to sew and easy to wear too. I did a DIY post about it awhile ago but I am sure you can find so many tutorials on pinterest. Happy New Year!

  7. How talented is little Bella, styling you and taking those pics all by herself! My son's ex-GF's best friend is a stylist (LOL kind of convoluted there), she does all the Kardashian girls and some other celebrities also...so there's a career in it:)
You look really good in your turbans, very chic! I'm afraid I'd sweat every drop out of water out of my body here in FL in one...maybe just a scarf would be okay!

Happy New Year, from one Victoria to another!

    1. omg Victoria, I can't even imagine wearing a turban in florida heat. Though a turban head band might suit the heat better. I love fashion and styling. It is like playing dress up everyday...which we do a lot of here. Happy New Year!
