I think this is the project that really started everything for me. I know as a newbie blogger how hard it is to get people to notice a new blog. This project made me "the fridge lady." It is the most pinned project of mine on pinterest.
Oh how I love this couch. I found it on craigslist for $75. It truly was the best deal ever. I decided to paint the upholstery because of my two kids and three dogs. It still holding up pretty well so far. I am going to do another coat of paint on it soon to freshen it up a bit.
This pretty vanity is such a favorite of mine and the girls. We probably spend more time on it than any other furniture in the house. : ) I think this post was the first time I really shared a bit more about myself too.
To this day, this gorgeous oil painting is the best and most favorite find ever. You can read more about the story here.
Here she is. I am so grateful for Amy of Maison Decor to introducing me to Efex appliques. It truly was a game changer for me. Furniture transformation is truly a form of art and expression for me and this is the first time I really got to express myself as an artist. My dream bed.
One of the best things I did for myself in 2014 was taking an upholstery class. It is the most labor intensive and the most time consuming yet the most rewarding experience. I have so much more to learn and I can't wait to share more upholstery projects with you. This project was a pretty ballsy project for a beginner like me to do but with the help of my amazing instructor, I did it! Thank you so much for all the comments and encouragement you have given me. I am ready to rock 2015.
Love,
Victoria

Victoria - You are a truly creative person and I love all your posts. One of my favorites, (which didn't make this post) was the large bathroom mirror transformation. I'm still dreaming of doing something similar to my master bath mirror. I look forward to many more, lovely and inspiring posts in 2015!!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you and yours <3
Your blog has been such an inspiration to me. Your projects are so creative and I love that you decorate for you and your family - not for what is trending at the moment. Because of you, I have become more fearless in my style and am starting to truly love my home. Happy 2015!!!
ReplyDeleteVictoria,
ReplyDeleteI loved your fridge project. That is so awesome. Shows how you think outside the "box" and how creative you are. I want your pastry sign above the refrig. I have been looking for one like that for my dining room! Have a great start to the new year with lots of fun and inspiring new posts for the year.
Kris

Hi Victoria, oh how time flys when you are having so much fun...yes the fridge lady indeed. Your fridge was what totally caught my attention, so much so I often think of doing my fridge much like yours, not because it's old, but mostly because it lacks any kind of charm, and darn yours turned out so creatively amazing. You have that signature piece that will follow you for many years to come.
ReplyDeleteI so need to go back and read your fridge post on your step by step how to, and what you used to glue on your moldings to the surface. Moving onto all your pieces, you really have inspired a wonderful look in all your hands touch, that French daybed is to die for, and the clever sofa transformation really lifts it to a whole other level of beauty. You my dear are going to be around for years to come, and of course your pieces will be pinned, posted, and talked about in all they inspire.
Thank you dear friend for your loyal following over at my place, as well as your encouraging words left after you visit my latest creations. Victoria, I am really excited to see what's ahead for you in the following year 2015 it can't be anything less then amazing.
Happy New Year!
Xoxo

I have been surprised by everything you share. You are such a creative person. You think of things to do that make me wonder " how did she think of that!" So enjoyable to visit your posts. Your little girls always adding the sparkle to everything you share with their sweet beauty. I also will never tire of seeing your huge Monet painting. I think that is what identifies you most for me...and your French bed. Happiness in the new year for the three of you xxo
ReplyDeleteYour hobby is one of a kind. I can say it's your passion. Vintage stuff is really beautiful, but your customizations are outstanding. Your upholstery work is great, and the output speaks for themselves. Keep up the great work, Victoria! Thanks for sharing that! More power to you!
