Exactly a year ago today I pressed the publish button and officially joined this blogging world. I can honestly say it was the best decision. I have to say, blogging saved me. For a while, I found myself uninspired and slowly losing this creative part of myself. I mean I was still doing projects non-stop but I missed having these creative conversations with like-minded people. I wanted to be apart of something that was going to challenge me creatively and intellectually. As much as I love being a mom, I wanted to have a space to be me and establish myself as an individual. Now after one year of blogging, I can honestly say I feel more fulfilled. To celebrate this blogniversary, I decided to bake a cake. Why not? Today was another snowy and gloomy day and Aurora and I spent all day baking while Bella was in school.
Thank you...really from the bottom of my heart for taking this journey with me...with us and helping me find myself. I would love to know what you, my friends, would like to see more on this blog. In the mean time, stay warm and cake is ALWAYS a good idea.
Love,
Victoria
Your cake is amazing. So happy you began blogging too...and now Instagram too. Its been lovely getting to know you and your sweet daughters. You give so much beauty. Most of all I like that you are just yourself! Enjoy celebrating. xxo
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kerrie. I am so happy we can connect on IG...somehow it is easier there, isn't it?
DeleteLove that cake. I knew someone that had a wedding cake like that.
ReplyDeleteLove reading your blog.
Thank you, Debby. It totally looks like a wedding cake and way too big for the three for us.
DeleteI find your blog so inspiring. In fact, I find your blog so inspiring, I signed up for not one, but two upholstery classes! I went to the first one this past week, and the other one starts tomorrow. I would never have done this without you, I would have just slumped around all depressed and dreary and wanted to, but never actually gotten it together to do so (partly because I didn't even know such things as upholstery classes existed before I read your blog). So many of your projects inspire (your book doorway is still one of the most amazing things I have ever seen) but even more your commitment to creativity itself inspires. I am always thrilled to get another installment of that. Additionally, one of the best pieces of writing I have ever read on a blog was the one that had pictures of the daybed you made, and was telling about how your daughter was saying to you how much she wants to be like you when she grows up and it brought you to tears. It brought me to tears to, and it reminded me of how hard being true to your own vision is, how frightening, and how worth it in the long run. I find that every empowering. So, in summary, I think you have a great blog, and I really appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteDang those onions in my eyes. : ) Dear Sara Marie, this is possibly the nicest and kindest thing anyone had ever said to me. I am so humbled and Thank you so much for taking your time to visit me. I am so happy you are taking the upholstery class. How are you liking it? I have to admit, it is the best thing I have done and also one of the hardest. I would love to see your projects.
DeleteHappy 1st Bloggaversary!
ReplyDeleteYou, your children, and your cake are all beautiful!

The cake is so gorgeous and whimsical, Victoria. You are so inspiring and talented. Happy anniversary. The photo of you and your daughters is wonderful. It reminds me of my daughter. It's something we love, and we had so much fun last summer after she finished her music study.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Su. The girls loved the museum. Bella was named after Isabella Gardner Museum in Boston. I used to go every weekend and it was getting too expensive then I found out if your name is Isabella, it is free. I always thought to myself if I ever have a little girl, I will name her Isabella so she can go to the museum for free.
DeleteCongratulations, Victoria. I love your blog, your spirit, your creativity, your photos, your beautiful little girls!! I am so happy to be your friend in the blogging world :) And yes, cake is always a good idea.

I love when you share photos of your girls dressed up. I think you should share you and/or the girls in a few fashion shots now and then. You are rockin that outfit with the hat. I need one of those hats.
